Heineken Cup finalists Leinster have already started planning for the 2011/12 season, and have snapped up two new signings to bolster their squad.
Winger Fionn Carr and lock Damian Brown will make the move to Donnybrook as Leinster look to regain their Magners League title. Carr, a former member of the Leinster Academy makes the move back from Connact where his performances have put him in the Magners League Dream Team this season, while the experienced Brown signs from French side Brive.
Leinster Coach Joe Schmidt said: "We are delighted to announce the signings of two Irish qualified players in Damian and Fionn and we believe that both players have the potential to make an impression over the coming season. I know how enthusiastic both players are about linking up this summer. In Fionn's case his arrival will be a homecoming of sorts as he is a graduate from the Leinster Academy.
There was another boost for Leinster ahead of the Heineken Cup final with Northampton at the end of this month, with the news that hooker Richardt Strauss has signed an extension to his current deal with the club.
Leinster are in action this Friday night against Glasgow Warriors, and will be looking to avenge their 22-19 defeat to the Scottish side earlier in the season. Jamie Heaslip captains the side, which shows a number of changes from the side that defeated Toulouse last weekend. Jack McGrath makes his sixth Magners League appearance in the front row with Strauss and Stan Wright. Gordon D'Arcy lines up alongside Eoin O'Malley at centre. Fergus McFadden, meanwhile, is set make his 50th appearance for Leinster.
