Kurtley Beale to join Melbourne Rebels in Super 15

SYDNEY(AP) Wallabies fullback Kurtley Beale will switch from the New South Wales Waratahs to the Melbourne Rebels next year in a two-year deal thought likely to earn the 22-year-old rugby star up to $1 million a season.
Waratahs coach Chris Hickey confirmed the move on Thursday, saying Beale, who has played at flyhalf and fullback for Australia, would give his reasons for the move later in the day.
Hickey said New South Wales could not afford to get into a bidding war with Melbourne to keep the rising star. He said "it's not about any one individual player, it's about being financially responsible and we've got a salary cap that we need to operate in.''
