Updated: February 04, 2012, 11:22

SAINT-DENIS, France(AP) Six Nations title favorite France opened with a convincing 30-12 win over Italy at Stade de France on Saturday.

Flyhalf Dimitri Yachvili booted 10 points while Aurelien Rougerie, Julien Malzieu, Vincent Clerc and Wesley Fofana scored a try each.

France relied on the backbone of the team that was edged 8-7 by New Zealand in last year's World Cup final.
