Updated: November 25, 2011, 10:44

LONDON(AP) Martin Johnson has defended England's much-criticized coaching staff, insisting the damning player evaluations leaked to the press were chosen selectively and don't reflect the togetherness of the squad during the World Cup.

Johnson, who quit as England head coach last week, was one of those targeted in excerpts of reports written in confidence by players but released into the public domain this week.

Johnson described the leaking of the reports as "one of the worst things I have experienced in the game.''
