DUNEDIN, New Zealand(AP) England says Thomas Waldrom is flying to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand as cover for injured No. 8 Nick Easter.
Easter is receiving treatment for a back injury which forced him to miss the 41-10 victory over Georgia on Sunday.
England manager Martin Johnson described Waldrom, a member of the initial 45-man Rugby World Cup training squad, as "temporary cover'' for Easter.
England has yet to call up a replacement for prop Andrew Sheridan, who sustained a tournament-ending shoulder injury in England's 13-9 victory over Argentina in the opening Pool B match.
