2011 Aviva Premiership Team Standings

Aviva Premiership

The English Premiership is currently known as the Aviva Premiership because of the league's sponsorship by Aviva Insurance Company. It is a professional league competition for rugby union football clubs in the top division of the English rugby.

The competition consists of just 12 clubs and has been played since 1987. It has evolved into the current Premiership system employing promotion and relegation to and from the RFU Championship. Clubs competing in the Aviva Premiership qualify for Europe's two club competitions, the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup.
