2010 Derrick Hougaard
Derrick Hougaard was born in Citrusdal, South Africa on 4th January 1983.
Derrick played for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup competition in South Africa and the Bulls in the international Super 14 competition.
In the 2002 Currie Cup final against the Golden Lions, Derrick broke Naas Botha's 15 year record for points scored in a Currie Cup final of 24 by scoring 26, (1 try, 2 drop goals and 5 penalties).
Derrick made his test debut at the age of 20 for the Springboks during the 2003 World Cup as a reserve during the 72 to 6 win over Uruguay at Subiaco Oval in Perth, he also scored his first international points, successful in a conversion.
In 2008, Derrick left his native South Africa and followed Bulls coach Heineke Meyer to join Leicester Tigers. However, a year in which injury prevented his progress was ended when he decided to leave the Midlands club and sign for Saracens.
Derrick made his debut for the Saracens on 5 September 2009 against London Irish and he established his first team credentials.
