2010 Shane Geraghty

Shane Geraghty was born in Coventry, West Midlands on 12th August 1986. He attended Bablake School until 2002 followed by Colston's Collegiate.

He represented Ireland RU team at U16 level, but since then has represented England at every level up to and including International level.

Shane joined London Irish in 2004 and it was a couple of years later that he secured himself a first team slot after covering for Riki Flutey's injury and playing well.

Shane was included as one of three fly halves in the Elite England Squad for the 2007 Six Nations. He made his debut as a substitute on 11 March 2007 in the RBS Six Nations win against France, playing a huge part in England's vital second try and helping England to win the game by kicking 5 points.

Shane won his second cap as a substitute against Wales in the final game of the 2007 Six Nations. He was named in the England training squad for the 2007 Rugby World Cup but did not make the cut.

In 2008, Shane was called into the England Saxons side where he was declared man-of-the-match in the victory over Ireland A on 1 February 2008. He was also called up to the England squad for the 2008 six nations.

Shane left London Irish at the end of the 2008-09 season and joined Guinness Premiership rivals Northampton Saints. His Saints career began with a bang, quite literally, thanks to a debut man of the match performance against Worcester on the opening day of the 2010-11 season. More such awards swiftly followed as Shane played a massive part in helping the Saints illuminate what was otherwise a dull few months of Guinness Premiership rugby with a string of attacking performances.
